Multi-Purpose Garments!

I've decided I should quit picking on the First Lady's belts. The more I think about it, the more I realize they are perfect for our recessionary times! Look how multi-purpose they are! They are simultaneously:

* a back-brace
* a mini-corset
* a uplifting foundational garment for the "girls"-without surgery!

Brilliant and efficient!

Ok, I still think the look is horrible.

Ok - I'm not saying this to be unkind to some of our seniors - meaning "senior-seniors", not just kinda seniors like moi.

You know how some older ladies (usually over 75 or so) get a low tummy pooch? Then they dress themselves in a cute little old lady dress with a cute little belt. The belt ends up under the girls making the pooch look all the worse. They also wear colored rhinestone jewelry in the daytime, which I think is way cool!

I think these ladies looks sweet and cute. But remember - they are nearing 80 years old and are allowed to have a pooch.

That's what MO looks like - an 80 year old woman with a pooch. Not cool. I think she looks like a complete slob...

...and the real reason those belts look so bad is because she is very short-waisted. No short-waisted woman (particularly one with large hips) should ever wear a belt like that. It's simply a matter of proportion.

She also needs to sh*tcan the straight, as well as the drindle skirts, and buy some skirts with a bit of flare on the bottom to balance her hips.

Those belts she favors are so
80's! And if you are old enough to have worn that trend the first time around you are too old to wear it now!

Adrienne: You are right about the short-waisted. Which reminds me of why I could never wear those 80s belts that Angel Baby reminded me of! AARGH! Yes, I remember that trend in the 80s. I had this wretchedly uncomfortable WICKER belt that was very wide. Because I'm short waisted, it took up my entire mid-section. I think I wore it once. It looked like crap and was like wearing a modern hair shirt-so uncomfortable.

She has the Scarlett O'Hara thing going too - she matches the drapes quite nicely.

What's with the 3/4 pushed up sleeves? And the unbuttoned cardigans, coats, what-have-you layer? I believe she's hit on a "signature" style.

Larry: Her 'stylist' (I hope she has one and does not come up with that look herself!) made sure the background matched.

Argent: Yes. I was browsing the fashion pages and the belts are catching on with some (crazy) people.

Can't she just look at what other first ladies have worn? Well, maybe skip Rosalynn Carter; I can't remember how she dressed but assume it was uninspiring.

She's very proud of her wrestling wins though.

Come on, Adrienne, don't hold back! Tell us what ya really think!
The Obamas, both Mr. and Mrs., don't give a rat's a** (my favorite word for the week) about what anybody thinks...regarding ANYTHING.
She could dress in sack cloth and ashes and I would doubt that anything that comes out of her mouth means anything.
Sorry for being such a "downer"...I'm not generally, by temperament, so negative.
But these folks give me major indigestion,...MAJOR!!
