Rained Out at Richmond

Well, there went my evening plans for a late night of NASCAR watching...How 'bout that Derby today?

I didn't have a pick. I liked Dominican for the long shot, but this year I was so busy I didn't pay attention to the potentials.

Not a single horse stood out like Funny Cide, Smarty Jones, or Barbaro (RIP).

I don't think we'll have a Triple Crown winner this year.

I stil have dreams of owning a racehorse and winning the Crown...wanna go in on a syndication with me? :-)

We'll name the horse "Julie's Dream" after my Dad's idea. :-)

Adoro: This is the first time in 2 years that I've even been able to watch the Derby. I was very excited. I'm way out of the horse racing loop so I had no favs picked.

I think you and I have a better shot of wearing a garish hat and going to the Derby itself, then owning a horse to run in it!

I'd settle for that. Garish hats and mint the Derby! Road trip!

You know, the Preakness is coming up in 6 weeks...that's a good place to wear garish hats, too.

Maybe there is a big event out at Canterbury where you ladies could wear garish hats? I'd be happy to take a snapshot or two and post them all over St Blog's so folks can see what our star bloggers look like all dolled up.

Ray: They already know what out Star Bloggers look like all dolled up thank to the photo I took of YOU at my Confirmation!

Adoro: One day we should go. That would be a good time. I don't even care about the betting, just being there.

I love the races. Let's go! :-) I'll share my betting secrets with you whether you choose to use them or not, and we can stand at the rail and watch them come in.

We should think about the Derby someday-maybe next year? Of course, there is always Canterbury closer in.

Canterbury is great, parking is free and it's cheap to get in. They take in most of their money via betting.

But they have food and drinks, too. :-)

I did research for my book at Canterbury.
