For Terry-Advent Vigil

Remember last year? Sodak keeping vigil at the creche waiting for Terry to tell his annual story about the Nativity and how the animals experienced it. Well, here's Sodak again! However, Sodak understands if Terry doesn't feel like telling the story this year without Celine. But, Sodak is still doing his vigil anyway.

It continues to astound me how both of my cats never touch or disturb the creche.Kaylen does not sit near it but Sodak, frequently, does.

No one probably cares about this post except the cat lovers!

Wow, that is so amazing. She thinks she is one of the stable animals! awwwww

We are owned by 2 kitties now, so that makes us officially "cat people". They are a cute mama, about 7 months old and one of her kittens, about 8 weeks old. They are adorable and think they are doggies, the way they follow us around and come when we call them...the mama even wags her tail when you pet her! I just hope that we can get over the mild allergic reactions we are having so we don't have to get rid of them!

I seriously feel so left out during animal posts. I have none. I have a daughter, that acts like a cross between a dog and a velociraptor, does that count?

I'm not a cat lover, but I enjoyed this post just the same. Maybe the cat has picked up on the loving and reverential vibe you give off when you set the Creche out. Who knows? It's cool either way.

Yea! I love the pious cat photos!

My husband told our son....."On Christmas day out of respect and love for our savior all of the animals bowed low on the day when the Christ child was born... or something like that and I said to my son,"It's true Joseph, I saw a blogger whos cat bows at the manger she has in her home and it happens even still today.

I will show him! And perhaps "lift" your lovely cat photo. :)

BTW.. My cats act like pagans and I've been trying to convert them for some time now but the problem is they're nominally religious and religious cats who act as if they know everything are the hardest ones of all to convert to a true love and desire for Christ.

I came back to show my son your cat.

Is that red candy dish from the 1893 Chicago worlds fair? It's so pretty. I've seen goblets, glasses and other speciality pieces from the fair and they've always been red and clear like that with gold lettering.

So pretty.

Belinda: Good eye! That's the only piece I have. I inherited it from my Mom after her death-my Dad didn't want it. I believe she got it from her Mom but prior to that I've no other history. It is, however, one of my favorite dinner setting pieces because, as you noted, it's quite dramatic.

Actually, most of the items in the hutch were Mom's. The china was my parents wedding china. My Grandma (maternal) bought it for them. It's a formal dinner set for 12-Bavarian china. Only missing a few pieces due to breakage. Most of the glasswear and the punch bowl set were items I bought but they are outnumbered by the china. My Dad did not want any of it. He said I entertain more-which is true. I do use it. I just used it over Thanksgiving when I had some folks over.

I keep saying I'm going to become a minimulist and I mean it until I go to an antique mall or a really great garage sale.

Darn!! I hate/love stuff. I can't decide.
