Happy Feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria!

Glorious St. Catherine, virgin and martyr, help me to imitate your love of purity. Give me strength and courage in fighting off the temptations of the world and evil desires. Help me to love God with my whole heart and serve Him faithfully.

O St. Catherine, through your glorious martyrdom for the love of Christ, help me to be loyal to my faith and my God as long as I live.

Amen.

Happy Feast Day, Cathy! That is a beautiful prayer. :-)

Have been enjoying your posts. I had no idea what "low christology" was until I Googled it. (Your post on it was third!) I checked it out because I looked at that wacky SJA site with the 60's caberet bit and scrolled down to see the writer's bio featured. Um. I can definitely understand why he would want to believe in LC.

Thank you for your blog and for your honest portrayal of Catholicism along with your transparency. I've learned quite a bit and look forward to more. Happy Thanksgiving! :-D

You are welcome - I also thought that the wheel Catherine is always shown with not only represents her martyrdom, but the fact she was a huge NAS-Chariot racing fan when she wasn't working in the great library at Alexandris.

A blessed feast day! You have been in my thoughts and prayers today.
We have the Roman Martyrology read each day after Office of Readings and yesterday (we do it a day ahead to prepare for the next day) when I heard St. Catherine was scourged with scorpions, I flinched! Oww!
May she intercede for you before the Throne of God.
