Prayer Request

My cats, Kaylen and Sodak, are very ill. They had a reaction to a routine shot at the vet Wednesday afternoon. I had to rush them in yesterday. They were given some medicine and have been improving slightly. But, I think their temps are still elevated. They are sluggish and tired. However, they are eating and drinking water again. Most of Thursday they did not eat at all.

As I'll probably never have children, my cats are it. I'd rather cut off my arm with a dull knife than have anything happen to them. Those of you with pets understand.

How much Lord? I've been wailing and yelling a lot at Him today. Some from my heart, some with my mouth. I just prayed to Our Lady.

I'm feeling really low right now. I should think about people with real problems but I can't get beyond myself at this moment.

I figure yelling at God is still communicating with Him (better than not talking at all). As for Our Lady, "What good Jewish boy says no to his Mother?"

Praying for the three of you. Don't discount what's happening. It is a sorrow and hardship.

What the hell did the vet give them? Was it the rabies shot, distemper, something else? As I don't have cats I don't know what is "routine" for them.

Am assuming they've had this shot before? What the hell?

Having lost a dog to cancer, I know what it's like to watch a pet suffer and feel so helpless. They don't understand pain and look to us to make it go away. Theology of suffering means NOTHING to them.

But it DOES mean something to us.

Remember that ALL suffering is redemptive...for us. You are suffering now... offer it. Don't let this go to waste.

Praying, keep us updated. :-(

Sorry to hear about your sweet kitties. DOn't minimize your frame of mind, it's quite "kosher" to feel the way you do. I would, and I have children (adult, but still...) Asking for the intercession of St. Francis for your cats, and our Dear Mother Mary for you.

I pray too - so yes - I'm praying for them and I asked mine to pray for them as well. (I do not care what people think of that.) I share Adoro's outrage - what did they get? Did you call the Vet about it?

OH MY GOSH!!! Those poor kitties! I wonder if they made a mistake and gave them something they shouldn't have--with both your cats sick--I'm praying!
