Laughter: A Potent Weapon

Given what I posted earlier, Vincenzo sent me the photo above. I realized that maybe if I always picture Satan as Jon Lovitz, I'll be too busy laughing at him to listen to him.

Free association: I just realized that you can spell "Santa" using the letters for "Satan".

Both C.S. Lewis (in The Screwtape Letters) & Thomas Aquinas both echo the laughter observation. One reason I'll never be a Jehovah's Witness! As Teresa of Avila is supposed to have said, Plreserve us O Lord, from all these plaster saints! (or words to that effect)

AA: One of my fav stories of St. Teresa is how she saw the Devil standing by her bed one night and said "Oh, you" and turned away from him and went back to sleep.Totally ignored him. Good role model there. Another reason I'm not a saint but that's not to say I can't learn from one!

I too thought of the story about St. Teresa of Avila when I saw this post. My patron saint!

Sufjan Stevens has a song on his fabulous fabulous Christmas album entitled "Get Behind Me, Santa."
