Checking In

Yes, I'm still around, TERRY! This is my first week on the temp gig and it's been intense. I'm too tired to blog at the end of the day.

I thought all you young with it types were twittering and IMing and Blackberrying all the time.

Can't you occasionally tap out the odd 140 characters or so at stop lights to let us know how it's going?

Ray: I do, but I've not seen your smiling mug on Twitter (or Facebook) for some time!

Well, I did sign up for twitter (Was I supposed to capitilize that?) but I never went back after the first visit.

But I do check in now and then on Facebook. I really need to take a class in it. Don't laugh. I think the CDL should have a page. That might help us attract younger members and communicate with them.

I get the gist of how I'm supposed to use my page, but I don't have a clue about how an organization should use Facebook (or twitter, for that matter) to be effective.

Ray: Great ideas. You could use Twitter CDL feed for important or sudden updates. You could have a Facebook page for the CDL like a Supporters page.

Adrienne: Oh, no. One can never have too much bacon.

That's somewhat my thinking. But I need to find someone to work with me on this. Someone who is somewhat addicted to these new social conventions, yet who is a "member in good standing", so to speak, of the Church.

Most of our members right now probably voted a couple of times for Truman. [GR]

But I have added a goodly number of younger folks to the CDL electronic newsletter list.
