Has Anyone Seen Ray Since Saturday?

Gentle Reader: Anyone seen Ray lately? I've only had one email from him in the last 48 hours (you know how Ray likes to send email!)!

Here we are a few days before the Argument of the Month (AOTM) meeting and Ray isn't even trying to get me all wound up about the lack of inclusion at that event!

Something must be terribly wrong!

Reply in the comboxes if you have news......if anyone is on the Hill, kindly check the bushes around the Chancery...God bless you!

All presented and accounted for, Ma'am!

For some reason my commbox has been filled to overflowing the past couple of days. And I've had a couple of projects for one of my other lives.

Of course, I'm far more dependable at replying to mail than I am at initiating it, I would sadly admit.

And I guess I have added the "economy" to must reads on my daily excursion through the internet.

I'm kinda stunned this morning. I've watched the Dow Jones jump up and down (mostly up) these past twenty years that I thought that the upswings would soon be present as the bargain hunters showed their hands.

I guess this credit problem trumps all that.

Father Zuhlsdorf has put out a call to all of us to pray the prayer of St. Michael the Archangel.

I find it somewhat "head-in-the- sand-ish" on the front pages to read of politicians promising all their pet programs if they are elected. I'm thinking that there aren't going to be too many new programs next session of our legislatures. And a few old ones will start disappearing.

Bye, bye, Mpls planetarium! But at least we'll have wi-fi to text our goodbyes as we go under.

Thanks for throwing that wi-fi nonsense in my face! Well, I don't live in Minneapolis so I'm not paying for that AND those butt-ugly transmitter thingamabobbies on the light poles!

Don't worry, there's enough pain to go around.

Those financial plans...I could rant at length being the economic darwinist that I am. I'll wait and see what Mitchell Hadley has to say...hey, maybe he's missing too?!

I'm glad you are ok, Ray. I worry when I don't hear from you.

Either I'm a lot more popular than I think I am, or I email way too frequently, but it somewhat amazes me (scares me?) the number of times folks have wondered where I am.

A few months ago, I was consciously/unconsciously out of communication with some folks that I normally communicated with almost daily. And I didn't return a couple of phone calls (when a person gets so few calls, and most of them are "spam calls", one tends not to even look at the phone to note that it is flashing furiously).

Well anyhow, one afternoon during that period, I heard a knock at the door. Slipping on a pair of pants (I tend to blog in my underwear, if you must know), I opened the door and who/what was standing there but a drop dead gorgeous, knockout, police officer from the MPD. It seems my friends were worried about me and rang them up and asked them to check up on me.

After my jaw returned to normal position, I identified myself, she laughed (she probably figured that she was going to see a drug addict or drunk when the door opened, but I was as sober as a judge, well, I've known a few judges who weren't exactly paragons of virtue in that regard, come to think of it), and I called and emailed my friends.

Actually not only was I embarrassed, I was somewhat touched. When you live by yourself, you tend to think (or at least I tend to think) that nobody cares.

I thanked them for caring enough to check up on me. I have had some cardiac problems in the past and who knows when one might occur again. I also asked them that if they ever have to have the police call on me again, to make sure that it would be the same officer that I saw that day.

Glad Ray is present and accounted for! I too wondered what was going on...no posts and no e-mail. Didn't need to hear about the underwear deal...AHHHHHH!!! Maybe we could take up a collection and buy Ray a robe.

Swissy and Cathy:

No more catty comments, kids!

Surely I can't be the only blogger who dresses quite comfortably before he sets fingers to keyboard?

It frees the creative juices.

Ray: I'm leaving your last comment alone-even though I'm tempted...oh, yes...must pray now..

Yeah, I guess that might be an occasion of sin. And I might have been guilty of creating scandal, too. Gee, and I just went to confession Saturday. That didn't last long.

Thanks for leaving it alone.
