Facebook

I'm over on Facebook now under my Saint's name: Catherine Alexandria. Yes, sorry, I still can't get my personalities together! LOL! Honestly, I feel like Catherine is my true self. Well, if not my true self, what I aspire to be. It helps to have the reminder in front of me.

I will still, for now, maintain the blog. But, I can also post to Facebook too, eventually, I may just move totally over to Facebook. Not sure yet.

On Facebook, I will post more commentary on news stories, brief reactions, as well as have more personal life news in the mind-numbing detail the social networks are known for then you get on a blog, i.e. I'm watching the race now! I'm eating! I reading the Bible! I'm going to La Crosse, etc.

So, it may behoove you to monitor my Facebook site too or send me an invite to be your friend if you are already on.

Please remember my Mom in your prayers today. Today would have been her birthday. Thanks and God bless you.

I've been invited on to Facebook by a few people, including a couple of priests.

But once I'm there, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing.

You young folks will have to help me.

p.s. Just you wait, Cathy of Alex; just you wait. I saw that "face" post. But I'm busy at my volunteer thingie until later today.

Use facebook to connect with people, but keep the blog for actually saying things. Facebook isn't really suited for writing or conversations.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. Angela: I should. I'll have to find a photo. Thanks.

Ray: So what? What do those priests have that I don't? Ok, never mind.

Dan: I can import my blog posts into Facebook and I've been doing that via an RSS feed. But, I can also just post on 'book too. I've been doing both. We'll see. Hey, I'm glad you are over there! Great page!

Not me...I don't have the time or the interest to get on Facebook or...what's the other site?

Hope you have fun over there.

Praying.

I'm going to bed now. I'm overwhelmed...the idea of Facebook just made me even more exhausted if that's even possible.

Prayers for your mom. May she be at peace.

I second the idea of a pic of her.

Prayers for your Mum ascend as I write this, knowing that God will hear my prayer, though I'm a day or two late and more than a few quid short.

As for Facebook...

My parish priest originally invited me to join FB and I thought...'oh no...what do i want with another internet gimmick', but it does allow an immediacy that the blog just doesn't and also, like with you and I, i've read your blog for a whle but we never really 'chatted about stuff' till now, so that's a good thing I reckon.

I've never been on Facebook. I don't even know how to get there (I suppose I could Google, or call my 11 year old niece, and find out). Do you have to register and have a password, etc., to look? It's sounding like it's sort of interchangeable with blogging. So isn't it redundant to do both? Just wondering.

Thanks everyone for the prayers for my Mom.

Deb: I FINALLY added you to my blogroll. Sorry, about that. I've read your blog before too but I can tell we are going to be buddies. :-)

Melody: It's new to me too but I've found it's a more immediate way to chat with the buddies I've met online thru my blog. I can set up a feed to the Facebook page with my blog posts and I've been doing that. I will keep the blog for my longer posts but the Facebook is more personal and I make more one liners (which I know some of you just hate! LOL!) and I comment on news stories after I easily put a link in.

You do need an ID and even to see most profiles. It's easy. Gosh, if I can do it, it must be. My page is still lame. I need to jazz it up some more.

I'll have to try that Facebook feed for my non newsy, or more controversial, if you know what I mean, posts.

I second the "Facebook for networking, blog for blogging" opinion, but nobody asked me... :-p

I gave you a friend request on FB today, Cathy - hope it doesn't confuse too much, as it's under my real name. ;-)

Missed your Mom's birthday, but will pray for her nonetheless. :-)

Ok, I just developed a Facebook acount under my real name (no, I'm not going to announce it here), and I cna't figure out how to do anything but request to be friends!

Now I feel old. I can't even post to my own *^&*^T*Y account!

I think I'm mostly sticking to blogger unless someone can show me why Facebook is a good thing.
