Spring

for behold, the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone
The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of pruning has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land.
--Song of Solomon 2:11-12

Think of this reading in terms of the Easter miracle, NOT in terms of the weather we, currently, have in the Twin Cities!!! (SNOW!) Even though the Twins season kicked off last night, it does not feel like Spring (in weather terms!)!

After experiencing and driving many miles to and from chant practice through the 8" of God's white precipitation last evening, I do believe that Father "Z", quoting Geoffrey Chaucer, got it right:

Aprille yt is the cruellest moneth (whatever that meneth!)

The snow is almost gone ladee.

I can see you dancing barefoot through the gardens wearing yards and yards of streaming lemon-yellow tafeta... and then getting arrested at the Como Park Conservatory for lewd and indecent conduct...

That is just the image I get.
