Keep On Keepin' On!

Ah, the 70s! Disco, lava lamps, bell bottoms, polyester, huge 'fros!

Speaking of the 70's, CommonWINE has resurrected an article Father Thomas Reese wrote 30-years ago in the latest issue!

Catch ya later!

(*MEOW*. Really, the article is brand new but it is as fine of a Protestant argument of why the Catholic Church hierarchy has no basis in history, how we should be able to vote on our Church leaders like any good Protestant, as anything I've ever read by a CATHOLIC priest! *MEOW* Seriously, do these guys have any new material? If they really want to be relevant why not gripe about the fact that the Holy Father does not have a Facebook page because he's too secretive! Or, complain about how the Holy Father really buys his clothes at the "evil" Wal-Mart like everyone else! Give me something new to despise you for! Thanks! Peace, man.)

I just read the article...yup. They've fallen into the trap the early heretics fell into, later to become known as Protestants after Martin Luther bought into bad philosophy and gave rise to his own disordered mind.

They are trying to rationalize the supernatural, and trying to apply the standards of the world to God's own design. It's the other way around...the things of the world can be used as handmaids to the Church...but the Church is slave to no man, especially if the initials "S.J." follow it.

So much for fidelity to the Pope. What the hell happened to the Jesuits?

Too bad about Reese's unfortunate comments. Here's another name who should suffer your wrath: Father Richard P. McBrien. If you hear him say ANYTHING nice about the Catholic Church, feel free to assume he's on dope. I've never - NEVER - heard this guy speak fondly of his own Church. It's one criticism after another.

These guys should be told that while they're not the best, the Anglicans aren't that bad. Why not move in with them?

Father: Well, I'm still praying the DM but work has been tense maybe I need to ramp it up!

Adoro: Excellent question. I doubt St. Ignatius would recognize the order he founded. The Jesuits have a long history of martyrs for the Faith, Saints, struggles, persecutions...I weep when I see them now.

Tom: Father McBrien was scheduled to be here for a VOTF function (shock, shock). I think it was last week. In any case, I avoided it.

What a whiner - what needs to happen now is for someone to write an article "What Other Institutions Can Learn From the Church."

You've asked the all purpose 21st Century Question: What the heck ever happened to _____________?

If you zip on over to Stella, you will discover that I found the answer to "What the heck ever happened to England?"

A couple of weeks ago, I found the answer to "What the heck ever happened to Canada" on Father Z's blog.
