Is the Ignatius Bible the one that you prefer?

I like the Ignatius RSV-2CE. It's not perfect (it could adhere a bit better to the Vulgate) but it's very good.

This post reminds me of a great song my choir sings called Come to the Table. It's one of my favorites.

Cathy, I'm somewhat out of the loop about what went down with The Cafeteria is Closed blog. There was some consternation regarding that blog, but I never knew exactly the situation. If you are able, can you fill me in?

Thanx,
Tom

Vin: It is as japhy said. I have not done a big comparison among many translations. It's WAY better than the NAB.

Tom: I'm not sure what happened. I quit reading it because I tired of the National Enquirer tone. I took it off my blogroll a while back when it started openly backing away from Church teaching-esp. related to homosexuality.

Fr. Andrew - well, proper portions at the right times. (Cf. Luke 12:42)

Speaking of cafeterias, it looks like the cafeteria at St Agnes is once again open (the actual cafeteria that is):

Once in jeopardy, landmark St. Agnes School survives -- and thrives

Love the maitre'd analogy! Although the Catechism, to me, is pretty filling for just an appetizer ;}

Oh my goodness, Gerald changed the name of his blog! I just came back from there... "We the People", eh? Just as well, I guess. It seemed to have been getting more and more political (neo-con variety)and less and less charitable, which is why I stopped reading it. I know what you mean about the national enquirier tone, too.

I got sick of reading it too. It got too ego-trippy.
