Your Holiness, Who are You Wearing?

The Holy Father receives the left nut of the person who selected the vestments for the Mass at Mariazell.

Labels: Oh, yes, I did just say that.

The left nut....ROFLMAO!!!!

The chasuble looks suspiciously like some kind of hand painted silk material concocted by a fiber artist who learned their skills at a Berkley area commune circa 1968....or is that St. Joan C.'s bathrobe???

Truthfully - I was surprised to see the Holy Father in something so inappropriate. I guess he will just have to "offer it up."

Angela: It TOTALLY looks like some kind of Gaia/Berkley/tie-dye thing.

Sr. C's bathrobe? LOL! Though, I bet she wears cotton. Better for the environment don't ya know?

I understand it was supposed to be blue (for the BVM) and gold (symbolizing her royalty).

But I'm still clueless as to the Pokeball he's receiving.

It is appalling to me how some priests/bishops/cardinals put the Pope in such compromising positions. One would think that Archbishop Marini would be able to veto some of the local decisions such as those atrocious vestments.

And many clerics now are spitting in the Pope's face with their written reactions to the Summorum Pontificum document.

Some are saying that the Pope wants to pick his battles. I pray that he is able to do that.

I wish that he were thirty years younger so that some of these rebels could receive a proper spanking.

What in the world? What are they doing? Pokemon in church?

It looks like something from Maude or the Golden Girls.

Don't worry about His Holiness spanking the bishops, Cathy...they can't hit back or they're automatically excommunicated. :-p

Seriously, I suspect Papa has a way of making his point that does not necessitate spankings. I'm thinking of my father's way of changing his expression and his tone, so that I just KNEW I was in it deep, even though he neither lifted a hand nor raised his voice.

Gosh, don't yall know ANYthing about Pokemon? That Poke-ball contains a water-pokemon, which is why the Holy Father is being presented with it--in honor of those groovy water-color vestments.:-P
