Soy devastado, Don Francisco

Occasionally, I watch "Sabado Gigante" on Univision. I understand just enough Spanish to, at least, get the gist of what they are saying. Though, frankly, the show is so over-the-top (literally, ha-ha!) silly that you really don't have to know Spanish at all.

I read in the paper yesterday that Don Francisco's real name is Mario Krautzberger! Huh? Next they'll tell me the models on the show have had "work done".

Soy desilusionado

I watch the Sunday morning sports show for soccer highlights and to see what the lady sportscaster is wearing. She is a very attractive lady.

Lots of Germans moved to South America after World War II.

I haven't had cable since I went on the Internet back in the mid 90s, but there used to be a young woman who had a kids show who was very "vivacious", to say the least. Is she still around? "Xuxa"? or something like that?

"When I win the Powerball" the major reason I would get cable again would be so that I could watch Univision's non-stop broadcast of the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebrations from the Basilica in Mexico City. Absolutely incredible!

Yup, per Wikipedia,

"Don Francisco (b. December 28, 1940 in Talca, Chile) is the artistic name of Mario Luis Kreutzberger Blumenfeld, a Chilean television host. He was born into a Chilean-German Jewish family; his parents had fled to Chile, escaping from Nazi persecution."
