What a perfect evening for grillin'! Beef sirloin tips with Jack Daniels bar-b-que sauce. Served with salt and vinegar potato chips and washed down with Summit Pale Ale.

I'm sure many of you will be grilling this weekend too. What did you have?

This type of mindless post is sure to boost my blog stats! Tommorrow, I'll post photos of my cats. No one can compete with that!

I had hamburgers, Italian sausage, and pork chops.

You had your tonight!

Did you guys wait til you knew I was sicker than a dog and couldn't come?

I had a couple of microwaved hot dogs wrapped in tortillas.

Just wait til I have one of my famous galas!

Labor Day doesn't exist in South Carolina. It was taken away in 2005 because of the Ferko lawsuit that took away Florence's Southern 500 (at Darlington Raceway) and moved it to Fort Worth, Texas.

Trust me -- Truex won the Busch championship at the Southern 500 weekend in 2004. It was South Carolina's biggest event.

Grill-smoked beef brisket tomorrow! I just got done with the spice rub. Man that's a big hunk of meat. This in my first shot at the recipe from America's Test Kitchen.

Polish sausage was the meat, but I don't eat that, so...
pasta salad, chips and salsa, and the beer was Amstel Light, Sam Adams, and Leinenkugel's Summer Brew or some such thing.
It was a really fun day.

Yum! Where's Adoro, I can't believe she didn't grill!?

Bobby: I agree. Moving the Darlington race to November is also a joke. There was talk of restoring the Labor Day race to Darlington but I don't know where those talks are right now.

You bet I grilled!

But not last night.

On Saturday night I grilled a sirloin and a potato, but wasn't very hungry so I only had a couple bites of the steak. I used fajita spices so it is destined to become a yummy taco.

Yesterday afternoon I was at a friend's house, and she grilled chicken, hot dogs, steak, and pork chops, served with potato salad, veggies and dip and watermelon. For cream and apple pie, and Sweet Martha's cookis from the State Fair. :-)

I had to cook the remaining sirloin steak so threw it in a crock pot before I left for the party and I had a small French Dip for dinner. But since, again, I wasn't hungry for dinner, it was just a small thing so it's likely that lunch today and dinner tonight will consist of yummy leftovers.

By the way, I make a killer French Dip. It's better in the winter, though because it's kinda heavy food. But it can almost be turned into a Philly cheesesteak if thousand island dressing is added to the bun, and green pepper is added to the sandwich.

Adoro: How can you even move after a meal like that at your buddy's?!

Terry: That's my line.
