The Blogger Strikes Back!

Ray "Scoop" Marshall practically has his own column in the January 4, 2007 issue of Catholic Spirit (Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis newspaper). His letter is in response to the paper's insinuations that blogs violate the 8th commandment. I blogged about this a few weeks ago. Read Ray's viewpoint here

Thanks for the kudos, Cathy!

Between the quote in the NCRegister and The Catholic Spirit article that I never expected would get printed, my hat size, already near double figures, just got larger.

Ray: Remember, humility, humility....

That's ok. I have enough pride in you for the both of us. So, does that mean I have to recite the Litany of Humility for both of our sakes? Sigh.

Ray,

I thought it was awesome. Weren't you saying some time ago you're not much of a writer, or something to that effect? I'd beg to differ. You were published because you were succinct, you stated what needed to be stated, you backed up your point with facts, citing the events in the article, and you made perfect sense!

Thanks for standing up for we Catholic bloggers.

Glad you're on "my" team!

As Uriah would have been described, he 'umbly tugs at his forelock, shuffles his feet and blushes profusely, while all 'e can manage to say is "'onor and praise coming from you three gentlefolk is really important to me and I thank you from the bottom of my 'eart."

"For I know should I not 'appen to write well on occasion, or participate in some nefarious deed, you won't be 'esitant to call me to task."

And...

From the desire of being praised, Deliver me, Jesus.

That others may be praised and I unnoticed, Lord grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Lord grant me the grace to desire it.

And...

It was a nice surprise and I have savored it.
